This is my quote of the day because the day I’ve waited and worked months, years for is finally here! The Gibson x International Women’s Day Collection is officially LIVE on Nordstrom.com! I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to design a top with Gibson for their International Women’s Day Collection. I was fortunate to be raised by a strong woman. My Mom came to America from communist Vietnam, worked full time, got two Master’s Degrees and raised a family. She led by example and showed me if I wanted something, I had to be willing to get down in the dirt, work hard and make opportunities for myself. I’m the only one in my family to be born in America and seeing my name on the Nordstrom website with a top I designed feels incredibly surreal. To me, International Women’s Day is a way to celebrate and empower women who are strong, going after their passions and doing what they love. I started Color & Chic because I wanted to empower women, starting with the clothes they wear.

I’m still speechless when I think about how a top I designed is selling online at Nordstrom. I have a bit of a surprise! There are actually two “Hoang-Kim” tops. Hoang-Kim Eyelash Lace Detail Top

The first top is the Hoang-Kim Eyelash Lace Detail Top, which is available in black and white. Most of the International Women’s Day Collection is size inclusive and available in Petite XXS to 3XL! For reference, I’m wearing my top in size Petite XXS. The start of the peplum hits right below my waist and the length isn’t too long. One aspect I love about this top is how it’s perfect for tucking into high-waisted bottoms. For example, tuck my top into fellow blogger Thamarr’s Pleated Skirt for an ultra-feminine look.

My style is classic and feminine and the Hoang-Kim Eyelash Lace Top emulates that whether you purchase in black or white. The cut is classic and figure flattering with a feminine peplum that isn’t too exaggerated. The eyelash lace is fresh and romantic. It’s a basic piece any woman can wear and style a variety of ways year after year. Wear it to work with neutral colored pants or make your outfit pop with colored pants like I am with these red ones. I believe in pieces pulling double duty where you can wear it to work and wear it again on the weekend. The Hoang-Kim Eyelash Lace Top is just that. Y’all know I love pink so I can’t resist designing a top in pink! What I love about this particular shade is how it really pops and the subtle floral pattern really makes it fresh. Definitely perfect for spring and of course, it’s a versatile piece you can wear so many places. I’m wearing size Petite XXS for reference. Similar to my Hoang-Kim Eyelash Lace Detail Top, this is perfect for work and the weekend. I love it with white jeans but also with navy pants for work. Whether you pair with pumps or nude sandals like I am here, it’s a must-have for spring and summer!
