Hello My Beautiful Friends!
Yay for the first Wednesday of 2016! Fun fact: I used to wear velvet all the time when I was a competitive figure skater. Back in the day, most of the dresses were made of 4-way stretch velvet. Plus, it kept me warm out on the ice when I was competing. These dark green velvet shorts looked so fun, I couldn’t pass them up! I really like how velvet picks up light differently, so these look great out and about. While more of an evening piece, I could envision myself dressing them down with espadrilles or ballet flats.
Since the shorts are such a statement piece, I wanted to keep the top simple with just a white silk blouse. These exact silk blouses from J.Crew are discontinued, but their current version is almost identical, just without the button tab in the middle of the blouse.
