More than a year into my move to Coastal Virginia, I like to think my beach style is where it needs to be. One of the things I’ve learned is to have fuss-free outfits. That’s why I love this darling Draper James cover-up dress. Y’all this dress is next level, especially for the beach or the pool. I love the airy cotton voile fabric along with the delicate lattice inset trim. It’s a looser fit, which is great for taking on and off with a swimsuit underneath. There aren’t any zippers, so I’m very impressed with the ease of getting this dress on and off. However, it also gently skims over the body and has shape. The charming blue color is like a quintessential beach or pool color. Plus, this Draper James cover-up dress is lined, so you can wear any swimsuit underneath without it showing through!

While Draper James doesn’t offer petite sizing, this blue cover-up dress fits me perfectly. The length adequately covers my bum, even if I need to squat down or bend over to grab something, such as a yummy wrap. It’s perfect whether you’re in the South or in the city and want to look chic and put together. Plus, I love cover-ups you can wear in real life too. This cover-up dress would be equally great for a brunch or party setting. After a couple hours at the beach and a basket that no longer had food, Johnny and I headed to the grocery store. I didn’t need to change or anything, just slip this cover-up dress back on.

Under the darling cover-up dress, I wore a classic white one-piece swimsuit. I really enjoy the plunging neckline, which helps even out tan lines. One-piece swimsuits are making such a great comeback and I think this one is conservative, yet has good sex appeal. It’s extremely flattering and really gives the body an hourglass shape. The back is open, which is great for getting that bronze glow all over. Plus, white suits make you look tanner than you are. 😉
