Hello, Everyone! I hope you’re having a fantastic week thus far.
It’s the middle of October and here in Austin it’s still quite warm. Highs in the upper 80s threaten my desire to layer on sweaters and tights, but my autumn colored pieces are saving the day. The floral print in this bubble-hem skirt remind me of the changing leaves in early Autumn while the sage green top makes me reminisce about evergreen trees.
A tip for pairing prints with solids is to pick up complementary colors from the printed item. This skirt has rich shades of rustic green, fuchsia, gold and a dark teal, so I could have paired it with a top in any of the aforementioned. I chose to go with a rustic green for a more autumn feel, but if I wore this skirt during warmer months I would have gone with the gold or fuchsia. I apply the same rule to accessories.
