Johnny turned 29 this week and since we couldn’t do a big celebration last year, he decided to go all out this year! A couple of weeks before his birthday, he joked about renting a massive slip and slide. The next thing I knew, we were in the office and he’s placing an order for one, lol. We really wanted our family and friends to have an epic time and I think they did! That’s the whole reasoning behind our home: to have our loved ones in it and enjoying themselves. Here’s how we threw together a fun party for Johnny’s 29th Birthday! I’ll share a vendor list at the end for where we got everything.

Renting a Slip and Slide

Johnny really wanted something with palm trees, so we got this one from a local rental company. A week ago, I didn’t even know you could rent something like this! But now I know you can apparently rent practically anything! As you can imagine, they are usually for kid parties, but hey, you only live once so you might as well enjoy it. And I will say, the adults at our party had a grand time with this slip and slide! We 100 percent got our money’s worth.

A few nitty gritty things: I’m sure it’s different with each rental company (there are a couple options and some have delivery restrictions, so it doesn’t hurt to call around) but we had ours delivered about an hour before the party. It was set up for us and they bring a hose for you to use. You will need at least an hour for the pool to fill up. Once it’s about halfway you’re good and can switch the hose to the overhead sprinklers to keep the slide wet.

Since the company had a rental the next day, they needed to pick up once the party was over. They called us about 30 minutes before they arrived and the tear down process took about an hour. The water from the slide does end up in your yard, so keep that in mind. I’m pleasantly surprised how quickly our yard drained though!

Minnidip Pool

I’m now the proud owner of two of these and I’m never looking back. Johnny and I made the decision not to get a pool in this house, but we do like the benefits of a pool. Say hello to the Minnidip Pool! It’s super easy to inflate and has a 5.5′ diameter. It’s big enough to fit three grown men, who actually enjoyed some topo chico in it after some slip and slide Olympics. I love the pattern on this since it feels elevated and matches our aesthetic. I have no shame inflating this and sitting in it. For $70, you get some summer vibes and relaxation.
