I have a confession to make: I’m a sneaker addict. I’m not quite sure when this all started, but for years now, I have been in love with sneakers. I own a ridiculous amount of pairs I’m not quite comfortable disclosing. Probably because it’s embarrassing. I cannot exactly wear sneakers to work. However, I can wear them almost everywhere else. Today I want to share how to style sneakers with style. Sneakers are getting increasingly popular and can be worn day to night. Styling them can be a tricky situation, especially since sneakers do look so good with workout clothes or athleisure. However, they can look extremely stylish if you pick the right pieces.
These blush leather sneakers are comfortable and have a little bit of edge. I love the matte finish of the leather and the silhouette of this sneaker is more feminine, which makes it easy to style. These fit true to size and I’m wearing my usual 5.5. While I love to tuck my laces inside, you definitely don’t have to. I will admit, these are not great for working out but they are good for walking since they are a lifestyle shoe. If you’re looking for a workout shoe, I highly recommend these. I own them in four colors and also love styling them outside of the gym, as seen here.
My first advice on how to style sneakers is to look to make sure they show up. Don’t try to hide them, be proud! I love skinny jeans for this because they allow the whole sneaker to show. Plus, everyone has a great pair of skinny jeans. I’m going with distressed jeans in a dark color so the light sneakers pop. To pull the whole outfit together, I’m choosing this blush coat to go on top.
Another good option is to wear your sneakers with a casual dress, perhaps one made of denim or corduroy, which is more appropriate for fall. I have a few sweater dresses I plan on using to showcase how to style sneakers for fall in, so stay tuned for that!
