3 Simple Tips to Set A Fall Table + Our Favorite Pizza Recipe

Fall and the Holiday season are my favorite times to invite people into your home. Remember, it doesn’t have to be a huge stressful ordeal. It can be easy to host at home. I believe there’s nothing like welcoming good friends and family into your home to remind you of everything you have to be grateful for. Good company can cure a lot of things. You just need to get them in the door and get over the idea they are judging you or everything has to be perfect. It doesn’t! And, get away from the idea this needs to happen on a weekend. Week nights can work, too. So to help, I want to share 3 simple tips to set a beautiful fall table. Actually, this can work any time of year and are always things I keep in my mind when putting together a tablescape.

1. Start with White

You cannot go wrong with white dinner plates. I know to some people it may be boring, but white plates are so versatile. You will use the over and over again. They are timeless and will never look bad. This is number one on my 3 simple tips to set a fall table because it’s foolproof. We just got these white plates and I love the pattern and texture. This would be perfect if you want something with a bit more oomph than a traditional white plate. If you want a more oragnic feel, we love these with a slight edge.

2. Layer in Textures

I never shy away from texture. Ever since I was young, I’ve loved texture. My first fancy figure skating dress was velvet and I think that’s when I realized how things feel is so important. Whether you’re setting a table or an island, like me, adding a runner and cloth napkins can go a long way. When you do both, it can really make a statement. When you set a fall table, think about the colors you want to use. For this particular fall tablescape, I wanted really warm colors. Layer textures in, add depth and you’ll have a beautiful table.

3. Finish with Color

I don’t shy away from color. I love getting investment pieces in neutrals and adding color for that polished look. For this fall table I went with oranges, burgundy and sophisticated pinks. These pink plates are a slightly dusty mauve shade, which doesn’t lean too feminine. I paired it with these stemless glasses I’ve actually had for years. I love candles since they can really set the mood. The texture on these had me the moment I saw them! The gold flatware tied everything together.
