Hello Everyone!
This Ted Baker Cape Coat is one of my favorite statement pieces. I remember standing in Bloomingdale’s in Manhattan with Jonathan last February trying to justify purchasing it. He convinced me me to get it, saying it would be such a statement piece, I looked like an elegant royal and very few people would wear a cape. Needless to say, I bought it and ended up wearing it the next two days in New York City! I styled it with a sweater and leather leggings here and my friend captured the most beautiful photo of me and Jonathan during the March 1st blizzard here.
While many may not feel a cape is too versatile, I’ve found numerous ways to style it. It works wonders over both tight dresses and dresses that “swing.” It’s very elegant over dark jeans or leggings paired with a sweater. Plus, it works well during transition months when you don’t have sleeves and your bare arms poke out. This beautiful blue color is sold out, but I found the cape available in vibrant pink, lovely blush and navy. If you’re after the bright blue, I found this stunning wrap coat in the same shade.
I used to wear fun tights all the time when I was younger, but forgot about them recently. I saw a pair of polka dot tights at Ann Taylor and couldn’t resist giving it a try. I can’t believe I haven’t been wearing these sooner! They aren’t very warm, but they add such a nice touch and are ultra feminine and quite sexy. I love to wear them on days where my regular cashmere tights would be too thick, but still too chilly for bare legs. While the Ann Taylor pair are very inexpensive…I will say they got runs in them very easily. I just purchased a pair of Falke ones and I’ll let you know what I think. I’m hoping the quality will be better. I’ll keep you updated!
