Best Workwear Items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I love a good workwear outfit. I’m a big believer in incorporating your personality into your work clothes. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has lots of great workwear pieces and many of them are still fully stocked. Most of these pieces are items you can wear again and again to different places, whether it is to fall weddings, on the weekend or restyled casually. Personally, work clothes are where I would invest my money since the majority of us spend most of our time at work. It’s important the clothes we are wearing most often make us feel confident. There is something about putting on an amazing work dress or blazer that just makes me feel alive and puts that extra pep in my step.

Why I Love Linen for Summer

Growing up in Texas, and living in Nebraska and Virginia for a few years, I’ve learned a few things about how to dress for the summer heat. The first rule is to wear breathable clothing. I cannot stress enough how important it is to check the fabric of the garment you’re buying. Polyester, which is what most clothing is made of nowadays, is not breathable. This means it’ll trap your sweat and make you hotter – a vicious cycle. That’s where linen comes in.

Visiting Texas Tulips :: What You Need to Know

Even though I was born and raised in Texas, being away for more than five years makes me feel like I’m discovering new places to see and visit all the time. One of those places is Texas Tulips, nestled in Pilot Point, about an hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Every year, this family-owned business opens up their tulip farm to the public and allow you to pick your own tulip stems. There are gorgeous and vibrant rows of Tulips in so many colors. If you are in the Dallas-area, I could not recommend a visit more! Johnny and I made the mini-trek in late March. Here’s what you need to know if you plan on making a visit.

Teal Off the Shoulder :: The Wear Everywhere Summer Dress

If you are looking for a romantic, feminine off-the-shoulder dress, look no further. This super soft and flowy one is absolutely perfect. This truly is the wear-everywhere dress because it can be dressed up or down. Feel beautiful whether you’re wearing it with sandals in the morning, basking in the afternoon sun, or going out on a warm summer night. The smocked waist and sash add texture to this dress while the three-quarter sleeves give this dress an elegant feel. I’m partial to the vivid teal color but it also comes in light lilac, too. If you have any weddings to attend, wear this and you’re sure to be a stunner. The off-the-shoulder neckline isn’t going anywhere, so grab this piece and reach for it all summer long.
