The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2023 is around the corner! This is easily my favorite sale to shop for the entire year. Brand new items for the season are discounted more than they’ll ever be right when they become available at Nordstrom. Some of the items aren’t even released at other stores yet! While Nordstrom has half-yearly sales throughout the year, this sale is legendary for Nordstrom customers. Prices will go up after the sale and popular items sell out very fast.

To help you make the most of the sale and get the items you want in your closet, I’m putting a guide with everything you need to know about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. When the sale drops, I’ll have more posts on the items you’ll need in your closet this fall and winter. I’ll also be updating with available sizing, colors and more. WHEN THE SALE STARTS

The NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE is giving everyone a preview on July 3! This means you can see what is part of the sale and start compiling your wishlist. The preview is replacing the traditional print catalog. However, I do not believe it will have everything on sale. I’ll post my curated picks here on Color & Chic.

Nordstrom cardholders with Icon access will be able to shop the sale before everyone else on July 11. Items sell out quickly, so if you have a Nordstrom credit or debit card, your chances of getting what you want are almost guaranteed. If you don’t already have a Nordstrom card, you can sign up HERE. As with any card, processing takes a few days, so if you want to shop before it opens to the public, sign up soon! Also, if you’re a cardholder, this is when you want to make it a triple points day!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2022 opens for everyone to shop from July 17 – August 6.

July 11-16: Icon Level Nordy Club Members can shop in select stores and online
July 12-16: Ambassador Level Cardmembers can shop
July 13-16: Influencer Level Cardmembers can shop

August 7: Prices go up to regular retail.

NEW ITEMS, LOW PRICE FIRST

What’s great about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2023, is brand-new designer items start off at a lower price, then once the sale is over on August 7, prices go back up. I use this time to shop for fall and winter. Stocking up on what I need now and wearing it later in the year when temps cool down. You won’t find designer items including AG jeans, Tory Burch boots and handbags, Michele watches, Stuart Weitzman boots, Kendra Scott jewelry, Vince clothing and more at prices like these! You can get ahead with your fall and winter wardrobe and be set for the next seasons and years to come!

MY STRATEGY

Look at your closet and see what you need and think of on-trend items you want. Do you need a new winter coat, heels for work, a go-to handbag or boots? The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the time to grab those items. Compile a list of items you need and shop for those items first.

Once you’ve checked out and paid for those sale items online, you can go back and look for the items you want next. While a lot of items will be on sale, don’t let the hype make you feel like you need to buy something. I’ve shopped this sale for years and I find the best way to maximize is to truly buy what I need and not to be super impulsive. From experience, I’ve seen Tory Burch boots, Kate Spade bags, and Kendra Scott jewelry sells out fast. 

Right when the sale starts, I’ll compile a list of my must-haves from the sale for y’all.

• MARK your calendars and alerts for the first day you can shop
• MAKE a list of what you need in your closet
• LOOK at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale preview July 3 to get an idea of what you want.

Why Should I Apply For A Nordstrom Card?

Every year Nordstrom cardholders get to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale before it opens to the public. This pre-sale period is when items sell out fast. I’ve seen items sell out the day the sale drops for early access! By having a Nordstrom card, you’ll get to shop the sale right when it starts, increasing your chances of getting exactly what you want in your size.

You’ll get Rewards points when you shop using your card. Nordstrom Rewards customers earn points on net purchases made in-store and online at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack and Hautelook. You’ll get a $20 Nordstrom Note to use for every 2,000 points. And you get a $40 bonus Note when you make a purchase the day you’re approved for your card. One perk I took advantage of in preparation for our wedding was the alterations reimbursement. I took at least six different dresses and items in to get altered and I would be reimbursed in Nordstrom Notes. Then, I used those notes to pay for Johnny’s wedding shoes!

If you plan on a big shopping day, such as the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, you can make it a Personal Triple Points Day, so you can really rack up the points! This can be done in-store or online. I always do this during the sale!

I’ll admit I’m a little shocked this dress ended up being my top seller last year. However, it truly is such a classic piece and so versatile so I can see why. I’ve worn this dozens of times since and hope they bring it back this year!

VINCE MERINO WOOL CARDIGAN

I love a good coat or cardigan and this VINCE merino wool cardigan has been something I reach for on both casual and dressy days. It is so chic, timeless and beyond cozy.

NIKE ONE LUX LEGGINGS

Y’all know these are my favorite leggings two years in a row. I wear them for working out and throughout fall and winter with sweaters, tunics and sweater dresses for extra warmth. These sold out really quickly!

Barefoot Dreams Cardigan

I got this in 2019 and it’s been a staple for me ever since! Whether I wear it around the house to stay warm or style it outside on slightly chilly days, it’s beyond soft and comfortable. I can’t wait to keep snuggling up with it for years to come!

ALO Tank

A super-soft tank you can throw on over a sports bra with leggings or biker shorts. This came in a couple of colors and I snapped up the ivory! Fits true to size and so flattering.
