PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics Travel Diary

If you ever get the chance to attend the Winter Olympics, take it! The spirit of countries coming together to witness history, the camaraderie of cheering on your country and the fight of athletes is truly remarkable. The entire world gathers to hear athletes’ stories – of passions ignited, of triumphant moments, of endless sacrifice and unconditional love. It’s something you can feel whether you’re in the arena, at the alpine heights or taking in the host city. Johnny and I feel truly blessed to watch moments when work met victory and love met pride. One of my favorite quotes is from the opening film of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino Italy and I’d like to share it here. “Greatness is born of fearless visions and unconditional devotions.” Here is our PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics travel diary. Read more…

Watching Olympic Figure Skating :: Layering Up to Stay Warm

I cannot believe how surreal the past week has been. It’s so crazy to believe more than a week ago, we traveled to PyeongChang to watch the 2018 Winter Olympic Games and Thursday night, Johnny and I watched the last even together on our sofa in the United States. It’s been the most incredible experience and there has been so darn good figure skating the past few weeks. I’ll write more on this below. I’ll be doing a full post on what you need to know about traveling to the Olympics soon along with a full travel guide, but I’m sharing some outfit snippets here. The weather wasn’t as cold as we thought, but layering up to stay warm is essential.  Read more…

Before my first winter in Nebraska, I did plenty of research on cold weather gear. I believe I read hundreds of reviews on at least 20 pairs of boots. However, these boots are the best winter boots and I am so happy with them. Through bone-chilling temperatures, scraping ice off your car, trekking through snow, these boots will keep you warm. For true winter snow boots, these have a relatively sleek silhouette. While they look stylish, the 100 grams per square meter of insulation and fleece lining will keep your feet warm and happy. Trust me, through hills and more than waist-high (on petite me, anyway) piles of snow, these are the best winter boots. Not to mention, the rubber soles provide traction. Read more…
