Feminine & Edgy :: Crochet Lace Top with Leather Shorts

I am swooning over this feminine white lace crochet top. It has everything I love, including romantic lace, statement sleeves, high neck and bow ties in the back! I love getting statement tops such as this one in neutral colors so I can easily wear them over and over. The details on this top are truly to die for and look so much more expensive than it is. The crochet lace is incredibly well done and has a nice stiffness to it. However, the top itself isn’t rigid. I love the high neckline and the extra detailing, which feels elegant and sophisticated. While the front of this white top is fun, the back is absolutely adorable! You tie the back into three bows to literally finish off the top with a bow. Also, this top comes as two separate pieces. The crochet lace portion and a white cami underneath.  Read more…

Dressy Casual :: Lace-Up Floral Top & Purple Shorts

Hello Everyone! Florals are paisley are my weakness, especially during the spring and summer months. That’s where this lace-up floral top comes into play. Sometimes, I actually prefer long sleeves in the summer. They keep the sun off my skin and keep me warm when I’m inside frosty buildings. However, the sleeves have to be sheer, which these are. This top is definitely versatile and can be something you wear both on the weekends and in the office. While this particular lace-up floral top will not work in my work environment, it’ll work for others. Here, I’m styling it casually and using one of my favorite methods of mixing and matching. I like to pull a color out of the print of the top and use that for my bottoms, as you may know.  Read more…

WHBM Petites :: Gingham Top + Distressed Jeans

Being 5’3, I love when a brand introduces a petites collection! Over the years, I’ve grown accustomed to adding in an alterations budget when I shop for clothes. A lot of the items I wear need to be altered in some way, usually, a hem will do. However, sometimes an item requires extensive work. I love White House Black Market because they have items you can wear both to work and on the weekends. Now, there is WHBM Petites and I could not be happier! Their petite clothing is for women who are 5’4 or shorter, regardless of their size. So what makes an item petite? It’ll have a shortened sleeve, narrowed shoulders, raised waist, shorter skirt length and a reduced pant inseam. Yay for putting my alterations budget toward my savings!  Read more…

Put a Bow on It :: Tie Waist Shorts + White Tee

Happy Wednesday Lovelies! I am loving these pink tie waist shorts and feel like you can wear them anywhere and with anything. Previously, I did a pink on pink look featuring these shorts. Now, I’m restyling them more casually. I love the cotton poplin fabric, which helps create that perfect bow! This material can wrinkle, but a quick steam or stroke of an iron will set you on the right track. Also, what I love about this outfit is it’s simple and basic. If you’ve got a white tee in your closet, you can recreate this look easily.  Read more…

Beach Day :: Darlin’ Cover-up Dress + White Swimsuit

More than a year into my move to Coastal Virginia, I like to think my beach style is where it needs to be. One of the things I’ve learned is to have fuss-free outfits. That’s why I love this darling Draper James cover-up dress. Y’all this dress is next level, especially for the beach or the pool. I love the airy cotton voile fabric along with the delicate lattice inset trim. It’s a looser fit, which is great for taking on and off with a swimsuit underneath. There aren’t any zippers, so I’m very impressed with the ease of getting this dress on and off. However, it also gently skims over the body and has shape. The charming blue color is like a quintessential beach or pool color. Plus, this Draper James cover-up dress is lined, so you can wear any swimsuit underneath without it showing through!

P.S. this look is featured on Love, Reese, which is Reese Witherspoon’s blog. It’s a place for her to share what she loves most about the South, so I would love it if you check it out! Read more…
