Olympic Pride :: Team USA Gear for PyeongChang 2018

It is still so surreal to me. While you are reading this blog post, Johnny and I are on board a plane flying to Seoul, South Korea for the 2018 Winter Olympics! You may recall I mentioned in this post this is truly the trip of a lifetime. As a former competitive figure skater being able to go to the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and witness history happen is indescribable. Johnny’s willingness to help make my dream come true makes me feel so loved. A few weeks ago, Bumble asked me to share what Love Equals means to me and I couldn’t think of a better example than Johnny helping me put together this trip. He knows how important going to the Olympics was to me and did everything possible to make it a reality. Love equals helping someone else’s dream come true Read more…

Heart on My Sleeve :: Heart Patch Sweater & Warm Boots

Those who know me personally can tell you I love to wear my heart on my sleeve most of the time. That’s why this heart patch sweater is perfect for me! The fabric of this sweater is unbelievably soft. It’s very stretchy and has that perfect slouchy look. You may remember I prefer sweaters with higher necklines because they can really keep the wind at bay. While this is heart patch sweater is certainly festive for Valentine’s Day, it’s perfect for the rest of winter and then for next Holiday season! It’s a great layering piece since you can wear a base layer underneath for extra warmth and then throw a cute vest over top. Read more…

Hearts of Pom :: Knit Your Love Cardigan

Happy Monday Y’all! I’m going to be honest, I did not watch the Super Bowl, but I do love the Eagles win because they’re underdogs! A good underdog story is always appealing to me. Perhaps it’s because almost every time I competed I was the underdog.

I’m sad Punxsutawney Phil predicts another six weeks of winter! I don’t mind winter, but I would like for temperatures to be warmer than the 30s! Plus, I’ll be getting plenty of that in PyeongChang and Gangneung when Johnny and I are there for the 2018 Winter Olympics! That’s where this wine knit your love cardigan comes in handy. The pom poms are in a heart shape, so this is perfect leading up to Valentine’s Day. Plus, it’s 100 percent acrylic, which is a nice cozy and warm fabric. This is a great layering piece, whether it’s over a tank, like I am here, or with a thinner sweater. Keep in mind, this piece is hand knit, so there are some gaps where wind can cut through. This isn’t the warmest cardigan, but it’ll do for mild winter temps. Read more…

Valentine’s Day Vibes :: Styling a Red Faux Fur Jacket

While Johnny and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, I still get excited about it. I enjoy getting in the spirit by wearing plenty of reds and pinks. This red faux fur jacket adds instant glam factor and makes almost every outfit chic. Styling faux fur jackets can be a little difficult. You don’t want to look too over the top, or at least I don’t. To make sure the faux jur jacket is the statement piece, I’m choosing casual pieces everywhere else. A simple pink sweater underneath keeps my body heat close and blocks out the cold. To keep the look more casual, I’m going with gray jeans. These are extremely soft, stretchy and comfortable to wear. Plus, I love the story behind this brand, but more on that in another post. My favorite over the knee boots in light gray makes this outfit cohesive. Read more…

Cold Weather Chic :: Velvet Pants for the Desk to Dinner

I hardly ever wear pants to work, but these navy velvet pants are making me rethink that. It’s no surprise velvet is still living out its moment. I love the lean silhouette of how these velvet pants are cut. There are off-seam pockets, which is a must-have for me. Plus, the way the pants are tailored looks and feels custom. I appreciate the contoured waistband, which helps with fit. I’m wearing a size 00 Petite and it actually runs just a dash big on me. Hence, my belt, which is also big for me, ha! There’s a little bit of smoke and mirrors going on here. Don’t worry, I plan on getting the belt fixed! I’m clearly having some petite girl struggles. While I’d normally consider an alternation job, I’m going to leave these pants alone since they aren’t that big on me. Read more…
