A Weekend in Charming Charleston Travel Guide

Charleston has been a dream destination of mine for years. The historic homes, rich culture, southern comfort food and picturesque streets beckon me more and more each year it seems. Being a Texas gal, I love exploring places in the south and my sister and I left with full bellies and a camera roll full of […] Read more…

Coming Up Roses :: Floral Dress with Pockets

I hope y’all aren’t tired of seeing Charleston in these fashion posts because I have one left! I packed extra outfits because of how picturesque everything is. This Kate Spade floral dress with pockets is one of my favorite dresses, ever. Typically, I am not a fan of full skirts, but I couldn’t resist this one! The rose pattern is beautiful with mixes of reds and pinks. Personally, I feel like the black color-blocking really tones this dress down and makes it easier to wear outside of special occasions. If you are heading to a wedding this fall, I highly recommend this dress. I wore this dress for both work, reporting was so easy with the pockets, and for a cocktail dinner. Plus, I threw on my Chanel espadrilles for walking around South of Broad in Charleston in this dress and for a more casual look. Read more…

Mauve Super Soft Sweater Dress

I swear by sweater dresses in the fall and especially during winter. I think there’s something so feminine about wearing a sweater dress with boots. This mauve sweater dress with balloon sleeves is such a stunner. I love the high neck because you can layer cashmere tanks underneath for extra warmth. Plus, this sweater dress is super soft since it’s mostly acrylic fabric. The shift silhouette makes this dress easy and effortless to style. Just throw it on with booties or boots and you are good to go! I cannot recommend this dress enough, especially as temperatures start to dip. I’m wearing a size US 2 and this dress has a slightly oversized feel to it. I am thinking about maybe hemming it up an inch or two. That way I can wear it with over the knee boots! However, it’s also fine as it.  Read more…

Fall Tones for His & Her :: Olive Dress + Navy Button Down

I’m truly a summer forever type of gal, especially after moving to Coastal Virginia. However, I do have to admit, I’m excited about fall’s arrival! Since it’s still quite warm in Virginia, I’m sharing some ways you can incorporate fall into your wardrobe without sweating it out. Some of my favorite fall colors this season include olive, navy, rich golds and of course, burgundy. I love wearing fall tones in summer silhouettes and pieces. Also, I cannot believe it’s been 16 years since the terrorist attacks on our country. I remember sitting in fifth-grade homeroom and our teachers turned on the TV. We watched the second plane crash into the Twin Towers live and while i was young, I knew nothing would be the same.

This olive dress looks very similar to dresses made by an expensive designer, but costs less than $100! J.O.A is one of my favorite labels because of the quality and their collection of both trendy and classic pieces. The off the shoulder silhouette keeps me cool, but the color screams fall. Plus, I love the asymmetrical neckline and decorative buttons. Its rich olive color makes this dress is the perfect way to wear fall tones, while staying cool in the summer. This dress is currently on sale for 40 percent off, which is a steal! Read more…
