The Swimsuit You Need :: White High-Waisted Bikini

I’m a big fan of color, which is why this blog is called Color & Chic. However, every once in a while I do love neutrals, especially white. I have a big soft spot for a good white bikini, particularly a white high-waisted bikini. The pom poms on this bikini really add a fun touch but aren’t too much to where this bikini will be out of style soon. This is the swimsuit you need this summer because it’s a classic with a twist. The triangle top is flattering, even for smaller busts. While the high-waisted bikini is great for lengthening the legs and slimming you down. I’m wearing an XS in both the top and bottoms. The top fits well and would certainly still work for those who are more endowed than me. The bottoms are a perfect fit, too! This high-waisted bikini definitely fits true to size. Read more…

Summer’s Arrival :: Strapless Gingham Dress & Tassel Earrings

Summer doesn’t officially arrive for a few weeks, but I am already in my summer mode. Is it really a weekend in Coastal Virginia if you don’t visit the beach? If I go to the beach, I’m a fan of simple and effortless dresses doubling as cover-ups. This red strapless gingham dress is a great piece for summer because it’s so versatile. There are cute buttons down the front, which make it easy for this dress to go on and off. I will add, this dress can be short if you are not petite. I’m 5’3 and as you can see this hits mid thigh. I wouldn’t recommend this for ladies who are taller than 5’6. However, for someone who is vertically challenged like me, this red gingham dress is just perfect and no alterations are needed. I really like how this dress is tiered since it breaks up the gingham print, which can get monotonous.  Read more…

My Summer Beach Beauty Essentials

Hello my beautiful friends! I hope your week is going well so far. Since we are kicking off beach weather in Coastal Virginia, I want to share my beach beauty essentials. These are items I love to bring to the beach to keep my skin healthy and at its best. It’s so important to take your skin’s health very seriously. Take a little time to get your skin ready for the sun and you can enjoy your time soaking up that vitamin sea! There is nothing worse than coming home from the beach with sunburned, peeling and dehydrated skin. It’s not a good look and will most certainly age you rapidly. We don’t want that! Of course, in conjunction with these beach beauty essentials, don’t forget to drink tons of water to stay hydrated from the inside out! Now, let’s get to the essentials! Read more…

PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics Travel Diary

If you ever get the chance to attend the Winter Olympics, take it! The spirit of countries coming together to witness history, the camaraderie of cheering on your country and the fight of athletes is truly remarkable. The entire world gathers to hear athletes’ stories – of passions ignited, of triumphant moments, of endless sacrifice and unconditional love. It’s something you can feel whether you’re in the arena, at the alpine heights or taking in the host city. Johnny and I feel truly blessed to watch moments when work met victory and love met pride. One of my favorite quotes is from the opening film of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino Italy and I’d like to share it here. “Greatness is born of fearless visions and unconditional devotions.” Here is our PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics travel diary. Read more…

Coffee Culture at Anmok Beach in Team USA Gear

Happy Monday Y’all! Johnny and I are having an absolute blast in Gangneung while we are here for the 2018 Winter Olympics! It’s absolutely surreal to think we’ve been here for a few days and have witnessed history! Our first event was the Men’s Figure Skating and if you follow me on Instagram you know it’s been a crazy roller coaster! On Sunday (in Korea, Saturday for those in the United States), Johnny and I didn’t have any events. Gangneung is third largest coastal community in South Korea and the beaches did not disappoint. Early in the morning, we went to Anmok Beach. Coffee culture in South Korea is very strong, so it’s not surprising the street parallel to the beach is called Coffee Street. Almost every retail space sells coffee and there is even a coffee festival! Read more…
