Exploring the Best Views in Central Park

Hello from New York City! It’s been a bucket list item for years for Johnny and I to go to New York City during the holidays together. I have been several times before but unfortunately, he couldn’t tag along. This time, we are in the NYC for a good few days and are beyond excited to explore and check off some places we’ve been dying to visit! I’m partnering with Sole Society in today’s post to share some warm and comfortable pieces I’m wearing on my trip. Of course, you can’t go on a trip to New York without visiting Central Park. However, it’s quite vast and I want to save you some time. So I’m sharing the best views in Central Park and what I’m wearing to take in those views while staying warm.

Monochromatic Pink Fall Look

Monochromatic looks are some of my favorite because of how chic they are and easy to create. This pink monochromatic look is a one way I’m easing into fall. A monochromatic look doesn’t always has to be the same shade of the color. I love subtle differences because it can really make the outfit pop. This pink knit sweater has pom poms in the shape of a heart, which is quite adorable. This is a chunky knit sweater made of acrylic, so it’s perfect for fall and into winter. Acrylic is quite warm, but unlike wool and cashmere, it’s not as breathable. However, if you’re cold this is a great option. The v-neck means you can wear it off one shoulder for a slouchy look, too. Also, this sweater comes in white, lavender and tan.

Hearts of Pom :: Knit Your Love Cardigan

Happy Monday Y’all! I’m going to be honest, I did not watch the Super Bowl, but I do love the Eagles win because they’re underdogs! A good underdog story is always appealing to me. Perhaps it’s because almost every time I competed I was the underdog.

I’m sad Punxsutawney Phil predicts another six weeks of winter! I don’t mind winter, but I would like for temperatures to be warmer than the 30s! Plus, I’ll be getting plenty of that in PyeongChang and Gangneung when Johnny and I are there for the 2018 Winter Olympics! That’s where this wine knit your love cardigan comes in handy. The pom poms are in a heart shape, so this is perfect leading up to Valentine’s Day. Plus, it’s 100 percent acrylic, which is a nice cozy and warm fabric. This is a great layering piece, whether it’s over a tank, like I am here, or with a thinner sweater. Keep in mind, this piece is hand knit, so there are some gaps where wind can cut through. This isn’t the warmest cardigan, but it’ll do for mild winter temps.

Cable Knit Sweater & Paper Bag Mini Skirt

Hey Y’all! This is so crazy there are only a few days left in 2017! I’m so ready for 2018 to arrive and for all the exciting things I have planned. It’s much colder in Dallas than I had anticipated. I’m living in cozy sweaters so I love being able to tuck them into a cute skirt such as this gingham paper bag mini skirt. I love a good gingham piece for fall and winter because you can restyle them so many ways. This gingham paper bag mini skirt would be chic with any color blouse or sweater. Sadly, this skirt sold out. However, this is a super similar version and looks so cute on. The paper bag trend is actually quite chic if you pair it with the right item. I’m wearing size US 2, which fits beautifully. This skirt also comes in leather and suede.
