The Truth About Being Strong in 2017

Happy New Year, Y’all! It’s 2018 and I hope this year brings you prosperity, joy, success and health! I’m a big believer in learning from the past in order to move toward a better future. In this post, I’m sharing the truth about being strong and what I overcame in 2017. Life truly isn’t perfect and even though I’m young, I’ve learned so much in the past year. Sharing how you truly feel and being authentic and vulnerable helps humans heal and grow. This post on being strong is my way of doing that with you. It’s my hope this post can either help you in some way whether it’s feeling like you’re not alone or inspiring you to affect change in your life to make it better. Read more…

Cable Knit Sweater & Paper Bag Mini Skirt

Hey Y’all! This is so crazy there are only a few days left in 2017! I’m so ready for 2018 to arrive and for all the exciting things I have planned. It’s much colder in Dallas than I had anticipated. I’m living in cozy sweaters so I love being able to tuck them into a cute skirt such as this gingham paper bag mini skirt. I love a good gingham piece for fall and winter because you can restyle them so many ways. This gingham paper bag mini skirt would be chic with any color blouse or sweater. Sadly, this skirt sold out. However, this is a super similar version and looks so cute on. The paper bag trend is actually quite chic if you pair it with the right item. I’m wearing size US 2, which fits beautifully. This skirt also comes in leather and suede. Read more…

Holiday Ready :: Tartan Vest & Striped Turtleneck

I’m a sucker for festive holiday attire and this tartan vest is no exception! This is the perfect Christmas plaid with hints of green, gold and blue on top of the sea of red. Plus, the navy blue velvet trim really makes this vest pop. What I love about this vest is it’s easy to throw over anything, yet thin enough you can wear it under coats. Whether you pair this with a striped turtleneck like I am here or over a cozy cashmere sweater, you’re sure to look chic. One aspect I love about vests is how warm they truly can be. Keeping your chest and vital organs warm, will keep you warm. This tartan vest is slim and lightweight, but truly really warm with its polyfill. I opt for just this tartan vest over a light sweater if temperatures are going to be warmer than 40 degrees… Read more…

Hello Winter :: The Perfect Trench Skirt

Happy Friday and first of December, Y’all! This outfit features one of my favorite new pieces, which is perfect year round. This Chicwish trench skirt comes in a gorgeous berry color and is currently more than 30 percent off! I love how it resembles a classic trench coat in skirt form. Of course, it comes with a removable belt or sash, just like with a trench coat. I love tying the bow on the side with the diagonal flap because it gives an elongated look. To get my bow just right, I use the bunny ears technique, by the way. The flap design is very flattering on because it gives the illusion of a slimmer waist. The four buttons are simply for decoration but add the chic trench style look. Fully lined with a hidden zipper in the back, this skirt comes in size XXS to Large.  Read more…
