Hello Fall :: The Floral Transition Dress You Need

Happy First Monday of Fall, Y’all! While I’m very sad summer is officially over, I do love the start of a new season. I know it may still be quite warm where many of you live, so I want to talk about an easy transitional look. This is the floral transition dress you need to help ease into fall. This shirt dress has a classic silhouette with a very feminine and fun pattern. If this print looks familiar, it’s because I have silk wide-leg pants in the same print. It’s truly such a stunning print and is something you can wear for years to come. I’m wearing a size 00 here and the midi length is just perfect, especially with my heeled sandals. Plus, this dress has a huge upside: pockets! I cannot resist something with pockets.

Styling Statement Pants :: Floral Wide-Leg Silk Pants

Have y’all seen Crazy Rich Asians, yet? If you haven’t, you’re missing out and I couldn’t recommend this hilarious romantic comedy more! Plus, it was so nice to see an all-Asian cast. The reason I mention the movie is these floral wide-leg silk pants make me feel like a Crazy Rich Asian! Don’t be too concerned, for silk pants these come at an attainable price point. When I first saw these wide-leg pants online, I knew I had to have them. It’s a collaboration between J.Crew and famous wallpaper designer Abigail Borg, who is known for her quirky, hand-drawn florals. This collection has me swooning. The floral prints are simply whimsical and elegant. I actually got two pieces from this collection, these floral wide-leg silk pants and a shirt dress with pockets (blog post on this coming soon!).

Cold Weather Chic :: Velvet Pants for the Desk to Dinner

I hardly ever wear pants to work, but these navy velvet pants are making me rethink that. It’s no surprise velvet is still living out its moment. I love the lean silhouette of how these velvet pants are cut. There are off-seam pockets, which is a must-have for me. Plus, the way the pants are tailored looks and feels custom. I appreciate the contoured waistband, which helps with fit. I’m wearing a size 00 Petite and it actually runs just a dash big on me. Hence, my belt, which is also big for me, ha! There’s a little bit of smoke and mirrors going on here. Don’t worry, I plan on getting the belt fixed! I’m clearly having some petite girl struggles. While I’d normally consider an alternation job, I’m going to leave these pants alone since they aren’t that big on me.

Holiday Ready :: Tartan Vest & Striped Turtleneck

I’m a sucker for festive holiday attire and this tartan vest is no exception! This is the perfect Christmas plaid with hints of green, gold and blue on top of the sea of red. Plus, the navy blue velvet trim really makes this vest pop. What I love about this vest is it’s easy to throw over anything, yet thin enough you can wear it under coats. Whether you pair this with a striped turtleneck like I am here or over a cozy cashmere sweater, you’re sure to look chic. One aspect I love about vests is how warm they truly can be. Keeping your chest and vital organs warm, will keep you warm. This tartan vest is slim and lightweight, but truly really warm with its polyfill. I opt for just this tartan vest over a light sweater if temperatures are going to be warmer than 40 degrees…

Holiday Casual :: Boucle Wool Coat & Flannel Pajama Top

I’m so sad Coastal Virginia didn’t get enough snow to stick over the weekend! I’m crossing my fingers we get a real snow day before Christmas here. I love snow and being in a winter wonderland. Speaking of winter, I add a new pair, or a few, of holiday pajamas to my collection each year. With a super demanding job during the week, on weekends, I love to lounge when it’s gray or gross outside. These flannel pajamas are major sale right now and you can see the full look on my Instagram. The flannel pajama top is so comfy, I’m styling it for “the real world.” The pajama trend really took off earlier this year so I’m continuing it into winter. I believe if you style the top right, whether it’s with tying the bottom or pairing it with the right bottoms, you can get a super chic look…
