Our Formula of Love & Designing Your Own Engagement Ring

Even though we are a while away from getting engaged, we think about it frequently. The idea of designing your own engagement ring is becoming more popular. I certainly want Johnny to have a hand in how my engagement ring looks! If you are soon-to-be engaged, I’m sure you are looking at rings and learning about your style and taste. James Allen is a go-to retailer for designing your own engagement ring. In fact, years ago when a friend of mine wanted a tension ring for his wife, I recommended James Allen! You want your engagement ring to be perfect for you. All of us are different, which means our engagement ring should reflect that… Read more…

Holiday Sweets :: Baked Dipping S’mores (5-Minute Recipe)

This is easily our favorite holiday recipe, hands down. We make it every winter and devour it in less than 10 minutes. In 2013, we stumbled upon this recipe by Byron Talbott and knew it was something special. Fast forward four years later and we’re still making it!  It’s a simple recipe but sure to win over the hearts of anyone you make it for. These baked dipping s’mores take about five minutes to make and are perfect for enjoying by the fire or while cozying up with a cute Christmas movie. Speaking of, the Christmas Prince on Netflix is so bad it’s so good, ha! I don’t like the representation of journalism on it, but other than that soooo worth watching, ha… Read more…

Southern Style for Fall :: Blue Meadow Vines Blouse

When it comes to blouses for work, I love soft fabrics I can easily manipulate. That way I can weather them over pants or tuck them into skirts without an issue. This blue meadow vines blouse is perfect for fall. The lace yoke neckline is an instant eyecatcher. Plus, I love how it extends to the shoulders, too. This blouse is lightweight, so you can wear it on its own, or underneath blazers or cardigans if it’s chilly. I always have this problem at work, so I love how chic it looks underneath layers. The vine print is sweet and southern, yet sophisticated enough for the office. I’m wearing a size 0 and it fits well while also being easy to take on and off for a blouse without stretch. I’m styling it casually here with leggings and booties.  Read more…

Leaf-Shaped Lace Dress for Fall :: Greetings from Charleston

Happy Monday and October Y’all! Greetings from Charleston, South Carolina! My sister is visiting me for a few days, so we decided to take a road trip somewhere fun. Charleston immediately came to mind! Plus, the drive is less than seven hours, so it’s not too bad. I will be posting a full travel guide shortly and I cannot wait to share my favorite spots!

With October’s arrival, there is no doubt fall is here. This navy and pink leaf-shaped lace dress is a pretty pick for fall. The lace is beautiful and unique because of the leaf shape but also doesn’t catch or run easily. The navy collar gives this dress a polished-off look, which makes it office appropriate. Read more…

Sweet Southern :: Magnolia Romper by Draper James

I’m a big Monday fan because it’s the day I go back to doing what I love: being a storyteller! But I know a lot of y’all are probably feeling the Monday blues, so here’s something blue to perk you up. This Draper James Magnolia Romper is one of the chicest I’ve ever seen. While most rompers are flowy, this one is structured and sharp. Honestly, I really want to try and wear it to work – let’s see if that flies for TV news, ha! This magnolia print is a Draper James classic, but it’s updated with a baby blue background for their partnership with Net-a-porter! The cotton piqué fabric is what gives this Magnolia Romper it’s stunning silhouette. Plus, with the open cutaway back, this pretty piece is pretty darn irresistible. The length of both the shorts and sleeves keep this romper conservative, too. Read more…
