Holiday Casual :: Boucle Wool Coat & Flannel Pajama Top

I’m so sad Coastal Virginia didn’t get enough snow to stick over the weekend! I’m crossing my fingers we get a real snow day before Christmas here. I love snow and being in a winter wonderland. Speaking of winter, I add a new pair, or a few, of holiday pajamas to my collection each year. With a super demanding job during the week, on weekends, I love to lounge when it’s gray or gross outside. These flannel pajamas are major sale right now and you can see the full look on my Instagram. The flannel pajama top is so comfy, I’m styling it for “the real world.” The pajama trend really took off earlier this year so I’m continuing it into winter. I believe if you style the top right, whether it’s with tying the bottom or pairing it with the right bottoms, you can get a super chic look… Read more…

Beach Moments :: Colorful Romper + Matching Earrings

I love when a romper looks like a dress and this Karlie colorful romper is exactly that. Colorful prints are right up my alley and this one screams summer. This is also my way of not accepting summer is starting to wind down. The business in the front and party in the back approach is one of my favorite aspects. This colorful romper is a wrap silhouette, which is ultra flattering for many body shapes. The fabric is a flowy, yet weighty spandex jersey, so it hugs the body, but isn’t too heavy for summer. Online reviews rave about it and I can definitely see why! The v-neck is the perfect mix between low and high, while the length of the romper overall is just right. A few reviews say it is a little flirty and short, so I would say if you’re taller than 5’7, take this into consideration.  Read more…

Dressy Casual :: Lace-Up Floral Top & Purple Shorts

Hello Everyone! Florals are paisley are my weakness, especially during the spring and summer months. That’s where this lace-up floral top comes into play. Sometimes, I actually prefer long sleeves in the summer. They keep the sun off my skin and keep me warm when I’m inside frosty buildings. However, the sleeves have to be sheer, which these are. This top is definitely versatile and can be something you wear both on the weekends and in the office. While this particular lace-up floral top will not work in my work environment, it’ll work for others. Here, I’m styling it casually and using one of my favorite methods of mixing and matching. I like to pull a color out of the print of the top and use that for my bottoms, as you may know.  Read more…

A Weekend in Washington, D.C. :: Travel & Food Guide

On Johnny’s most recent trip to visit me, we decided to spend a weekend in Washington, D.C. I needed to work on most weekends while he was here, but luckily the only one I wasn’t working on turned out to be the Fourth of July weekend. At first, all we could think of was how many tourists would be there during America’s birthday. However, both being the children of immigrants, we couldn’t think of a better time or place to go. Here are our favorites and highlights of our trip. Read more…

WHBM Petites :: Gingham Top + Distressed Jeans

Being 5’3, I love when a brand introduces a petites collection! Over the years, I’ve grown accustomed to adding in an alterations budget when I shop for clothes. A lot of the items I wear need to be altered in some way, usually, a hem will do. However, sometimes an item requires extensive work. I love White House Black Market because they have items you can wear both to work and on the weekends. Now, there is WHBM Petites and I could not be happier! Their petite clothing is for women who are 5’4 or shorter, regardless of their size. So what makes an item petite? It’ll have a shortened sleeve, narrowed shoulders, raised waist, shorter skirt length and a reduced pant inseam. Yay for putting my alterations budget toward my savings!  Read more…
