The Perfect Wool Coat for Petite Women

When cold-weather season rolls around, I love bringing out my coat collection. Some of my favorite coats are currently 30 percent off with code ‘FRIENDS’ so if you’re looking to cozy up, now is the time! This gray wool coat for petite women is a silhouette I’m starting to really love. It’s versatile enough to where you can wear it casually or dress it up. My first lodge coat is from last winter and throughout the season, I just loved how it fit. Since I got the boucle wool version, I knew I wanted something that’s less of a statement. Before it gets too cold where you are, I want to share three reasons you need this winter coat. Plus, it’s on sale!

Styling a Statement Coat :: Rich Shades of Red

A statement coat is a must for the fall and winter. It’s the item you can throw over any outfit, walk outside into the crisp air and feel confident. My coat collection is one of my favorites and something I have been building for almost 10 years. This plaid statement coat is a heavy-duty piece with a classic silhouette. The woven fabric is a beautiful mix of rich reds with pinks and a little white to keep everything in balance. The notch lapels give that old-school look but the solo button closure makes this statement coat modern. I’m wearing size XXS in this jacket, which does have an oversized fit. This is handy for when you’re wearing thick sweaters or multiple layers. However, if you’re petite, you may need more alterations. The sleeves are a little long on me but I prefer longer sleeves to keep my wrists warm.

Winter White :: Slouchy Tunic & Over the Knee Boots

This white slouchy tunic has an effortless silhouette that’s perfect for winter. Of course, I’m a huge fan of winter whites, so this is no surprise. One of the aspects I really appreciate about this tunic is how you can dress it up or down. I’m taking a slightly dressier approach here with black pants, over the knee boots and statement earrings. However, another great look would be to pair this tunic with athletic leggings, a fun pair of sneakers and throw your hair into a ponytail or bun. If this tunic looks a little familiar, it’s because I wore it in a bright red on Instagram more than a month ago. It’s such a goodie, I had to get it in white!

Cold Kickoff :: Fair Isle Sweater Dress

Happy Monday! For those who dealt with frigid temperatures over the past few days, I feel you! Ever since touching down in Norfolk, it’s been wall to wall coverage of the bomb cyclone hitting the east coast. Not to mention, it’s been so, so cold. This cold-weather outfit is my go-to when temperatures dip below freezing. I’ll be doing a more thorough post shortly.
I snagged this fair isle sweater dress on sale before heading home to Dallas a few weeks ago. Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about it. Plus, it’s still on sale! It’s 70 percent acrylic and 30 percent wool, which keeps you very warm.

Cable Knit Sweater & Paper Bag Mini Skirt

Hey Y’all! This is so crazy there are only a few days left in 2017! I’m so ready for 2018 to arrive and for all the exciting things I have planned. It’s much colder in Dallas than I had anticipated. I’m living in cozy sweaters so I love being able to tuck them into a cute skirt such as this gingham paper bag mini skirt. I love a good gingham piece for fall and winter because you can restyle them so many ways. This gingham paper bag mini skirt would be chic with any color blouse or sweater. Sadly, this skirt sold out. However, this is a super similar version and looks so cute on. The paper bag trend is actually quite chic if you pair it with the right item. I’m wearing size US 2, which fits beautifully. This skirt also comes in leather and suede.
