How to Wear A Short Suit & Rock It

As a working woman, I love an outfit that makes me feel powerful. This teal short suit is no exception. I’ll be the first to admit, I know this is not something that can be worn in every office or workplace. However, if you work in a space where something like this could work, I could not recommend it more. It’s a refreshing, unique twist on a classic look. Plus, since it’s different from a traditional suit, you’re sure to get plenty of compliments.

Styling Statement Pants :: Floral Wide-Leg Silk Pants

Have y’all seen Crazy Rich Asians, yet? If you haven’t, you’re missing out and I couldn’t recommend this hilarious romantic comedy more! Plus, it was so nice to see an all-Asian cast. The reason I mention the movie is these floral wide-leg silk pants make me feel like a Crazy Rich Asian! Don’t be too concerned, for silk pants these come at an attainable price point. When I first saw these wide-leg pants online, I knew I had to have them. It’s a collaboration between J.Crew and famous wallpaper designer Abigail Borg, who is known for her quirky, hand-drawn florals. This collection has me swooning. The floral prints are simply whimsical and elegant. I actually got two pieces from this collection, these floral wide-leg silk pants and a shirt dress with pockets (blog post on this coming soon!).

Our Personalized Christmas Cards for 2017 with minted

It blows my mind Christmas is less than a week away! I love the holidays because I get to go home and see my family, even if it’s just for a little bit. Living in a completely different state from family and friends can be so hard. Time and chaotic schedules get the best of you and catching up gets harder and harder. This is why I love to send personalized Christmas cards. On the back, Johnny and I write a two-three sentence update about each of us. That way family and friends, no matter where you are, know how our lives are going and what we’re working on. This year, I’m teaming up with minted to create these beautiful personalized Christmas cards. Those who get one know we’re thinking about them…

Holiday Casual :: Boucle Wool Coat & Flannel Pajama Top

I’m so sad Coastal Virginia didn’t get enough snow to stick over the weekend! I’m crossing my fingers we get a real snow day before Christmas here. I love snow and being in a winter wonderland. Speaking of winter, I add a new pair, or a few, of holiday pajamas to my collection each year. With a super demanding job during the week, on weekends, I love to lounge when it’s gray or gross outside. These flannel pajamas are major sale right now and you can see the full look on my Instagram. The flannel pajama top is so comfy, I’m styling it for “the real world.” The pajama trend really took off earlier this year so I’m continuing it into winter. I believe if you style the top right, whether it’s with tying the bottom or pairing it with the right bottoms, you can get a super chic look…

Touches of Gold :: Balloon Sleeve Dress + Block Heel Boots

Happy November 1st! It’s no surprise I love sweater dresses, so I’m acquiring more and more. This River Island balloon sleeve dress comes in the most beautiful gold color. Mostly acrylic, this knit is a medium weight fabric and can keep you warm on crisp days. It’s cozy and soft to the touch, not itchy or uncomfortable. Of course, the balloon sleeves are my favorite detail on this dress. It adds a whimsical touch while being understated. Another detail I love is the inverted seam detailing throughout this balloon sleeve dress. It’s simple but really helps make the dress pop and gives it texture. When I was younger, I hated turtlenecks. I’m not quite sure what it was about them. Needless to say, I have grown out of that. Sometimes, scarves get in the way if it’s super windy, so high necks keep me warm.
