Quick Weekend :: San Francisco and Sacramento Travel Guide

I’ve dreamed of visiting San Francisco for years. In my head, it’s this powerhouse spot on the west coast. A dream, a place of connection, great culture and food. Johnny has been countless times for work but hasn’t really gotten to explore the city too much. Even though I only spent half a day in San Francisco, I’m absolutely smitten and cannot wait to go back! Our main destination for this weekend trip was Sacramento for our friend Taylor’s wedding. I’ve gotten lots of questions about what we did this trip, so I’m bringing to you my quick weekend San Francisco and Sacramento Travel Guide! I hope to one day bring you a more in-depth guide, but since we only had a fast weekend, here we go! Read more…

PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics Travel Diary

If you ever get the chance to attend the Winter Olympics, take it! The spirit of countries coming together to witness history, the camaraderie of cheering on your country and the fight of athletes is truly remarkable. The entire world gathers to hear athletes’ stories – of passions ignited, of triumphant moments, of endless sacrifice and unconditional love. It’s something you can feel whether you’re in the arena, at the alpine heights or taking in the host city. Johnny and I feel truly blessed to watch moments when work met victory and love met pride. One of my favorite quotes is from the opening film of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino Italy and I’d like to share it here. “Greatness is born of fearless visions and unconditional devotions.” Here is our PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics travel diary. Read more…

A Weekend in Washington, D.C. :: Travel & Food Guide

On Johnny’s most recent trip to visit me, we decided to spend a weekend in Washington, D.C. I needed to work on most weekends while he was here, but luckily the only one I wasn’t working on turned out to be the Fourth of July weekend. At first, all we could think of was how many tourists would be there during America’s birthday. However, both being the children of immigrants, we couldn’t think of a better time or place to go. Here are our favorites and highlights of our trip. Read more…

Weekend Trip to Asheville, N.C. :: Food + Travel Guide

Happy Wednesday my beautiful friends!
If you follow me on Snapchat (HKCung) you may have seen my 20 billion snaps from my trip to Asheville, N.C. On Friday, my friend Kim and I decided to take the spontaneous trip and we scrambled to make it happen! Once I was off work after reporting for the 11 p.m. newscast the two of us hit the road with our men! It was a 6.5-hour drive to Asheville from Virginia Beach. Many people have said Asheville is a big hipster town, which I would have to agree. However, there is plenty of charm, history and plenty of fantastic places to eat! Read more…
