Coming Up Roses :: Floral Dress with Pockets

I hope y’all aren’t tired of seeing Charleston in these fashion posts because I have one left! I packed extra outfits because of how picturesque everything is. This Kate Spade floral dress with pockets is one of my favorite dresses, ever. Typically, I am not a fan of full skirts, but I couldn’t resist this one! The rose pattern is beautiful with mixes of reds and pinks. Personally, I feel like the black color-blocking really tones this dress down and makes it easier to wear outside of special occasions. If you are heading to a wedding this fall, I highly recommend this dress. I wore this dress for both work, reporting was so easy with the pockets, and for a cocktail dinner. Plus, I threw on my Chanel espadrilles for walking around South of Broad in Charleston in this dress and for a more casual look. Read more…

Whimsical Florals :: Poppy Dreams Maxi Dress

Hello, My Beautiful Friends! I hope you are having a relaxing Labor Day! I’m working today, but I absolutely don’t mind at all because tomorrow I am leaving for Texas! I haven’t seen my family since March, so this is a highly anticipated trip! To kick off this week with a bang, I’m sharing this Vici Dolls poppy dreams maxi dress. Breathtaking is immediately what comes to mind when describing this dress. The sheer poppy print floral is just exquisite and there are 3D details where the extra petals are sewn on top of the fabric. I honestly feel like that’s a small detail, but it truly makes the dress magical. This poppy dreams maxi dress comes with a black slip since the fabric is completely sheer. I’m wearing a size small and it fits me well. However, there is some room.  Read more…

Dressy Casual :: Lace-Up Floral Top & Purple Shorts

Hello Everyone! Florals are paisley are my weakness, especially during the spring and summer months. That’s where this lace-up floral top comes into play. Sometimes, I actually prefer long sleeves in the summer. They keep the sun off my skin and keep me warm when I’m inside frosty buildings. However, the sleeves have to be sheer, which these are. This top is definitely versatile and can be something you wear both on the weekends and in the office. While this particular lace-up floral top will not work in my work environment, it’ll work for others. Here, I’m styling it casually and using one of my favorite methods of mixing and matching. I like to pull a color out of the print of the top and use that for my bottoms, as you may know.  Read more…

Floral Work Dress :: Jefferson Memorial

Happy Monday everyone! As many of you may know, I wear dresses 90 percent of the time at work. They are easy, low maintenance and I don’t have to worry about mixing and matching tops and bottoms. I usually wear solids, but this floral work dress from Of Mercer is a stunner. The reason I think this dress is particularly TV friendly is the print isn’t too small. It’s not overly distracting or can “move” like thin stripes. When it comes to work dresses, I like conservative silhouettes with unique details. Since I rarely really know what story I’ll be reporting on, I prefer to air on the safe side in case I’m assigned something very serious. While this floral print is fresh, it isn’t overly bright or cheery, so it’s perfect for the office. Read more…
