Fourth of July Outfit Idea :: Red, White & Blue

Who is excited for the Fourth of July?! Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays, so get ready for a few different red, white and blue looks coming up! I’ll be working on this Fourth of July but that doesn’t mean I won’t be able to enjoy it. Being a first in my family to be born in America, I feel so fortunate to call this incredible country hone.

Some of you may remember this skirt as part of a two-piece set I posted earlier. As I’ve said before, I love two piece sets because you can really mix and match the pieces later on. I’m restyling this fun polka dot wrap skirt for this Fourth of July outfit idea. One reason I love this skirt so much is what a statement piece it is. I feel like once I put it on, I feel chic. I’m wearing size XS and the fit is perfect. I really love the sash and bow, which adds a feminine touch.  Read more…

Summer’s Arrival :: Strapless Gingham Dress & Tassel Earrings

Summer doesn’t officially arrive for a few weeks, but I am already in my summer mode. Is it really a weekend in Coastal Virginia if you don’t visit the beach? If I go to the beach, I’m a fan of simple and effortless dresses doubling as cover-ups. This red strapless gingham dress is a great piece for summer because it’s so versatile. There are cute buttons down the front, which make it easy for this dress to go on and off. I will add, this dress can be short if you are not petite. I’m 5’3 and as you can see this hits mid thigh. I wouldn’t recommend this for ladies who are taller than 5’6. However, for someone who is vertically challenged like me, this red gingham dress is just perfect and no alterations are needed. I really like how this dress is tiered since it breaks up the gingham print, which can get monotonous.  Read more…

Shades of Pink :: The Versatile Surplice Jumpsuit

I love a good jumpsuit. They can be such versatile pieces when you find the right one. Wear to work, wear to events, wear on the weekend or even date night. This mauve surplice jumpsuit is one of those jumpsuits. You’re sure to turn heads when you walk into a room wearing this. The silky fabric skims over the body but isn’t too shiny as you can tell in my photos here. I love the belt, which really lets you cinch in your waist to add extra shape. While this surplice jumpsuit has a halter neckline, you can make this work appropriate with a blazer or cardigan. I’m wearing this jumpsuit with suede block heels but a sharp pair of pumps will take this babe into any executive room. Plus, the neckline isn’t too low so you won’t have to worry about anything popping out by accident. Read more…

The Perfect Chambray Romper for Warmer Weather

Spring is still a few weeks away, officially anyway, but I’m ditching my winter clothes as much as possible. Rompers are some of my favorite pieces for spring and summer. This off the shoulder chambray romper has a few unique details making it unique. The open back is darling, but I love the ruffle on the neckline. Plus, it has pockets, which instantly ups the cool factor on this chambray romper. If you are in a pinch and need something to wear during warmer weather, grab this babe and go. It has a stretch waistband so there are no zippers or buttons to fuss with. Easy on, easy off, which is something I can get behind. This fabric is relatively low maintenance. A quick steam got the wrinkles from shipping out. For sizing reference, I’m wearing size XXS and it fits true to size.  Read more…

I feel very grateful to be a TV Journalist and absolutely love what I do. I’ve wanted to be a journalist since I was a little girl. Thanks to help from my Mom, a strong journalism school (Hook ’em, Longhorns!) and the work ethic from my immigrant family, I’m proud to be where I am […] Read more…
