Diamond Shapes 101 :: Carats & Coffee with JamesAllen.com

I’m sure it’s no surprise Johnny and I love coffee. Nowadays when Johnny and I are together, we love setting up shop in a cafe sipping on coffee and getting work done. When we first met, we loved exploring coffee shops in Dallas. Then Austin when we went to the University of Texas. That love for coffee continues now when we travel, whether it’s to faraway places including Seoul or a few hours away such as Washington, D.C. I feel as if a cup of coffee is such a great bonding experience. It sets up the mood for whatever you’d like to talk about, good or bad. In this case, we’d like to talk to you about something good and sparkly: carats!

A Weekend in Washington, D.C. :: Travel & Food Guide

On Johnny’s most recent trip to visit me, we decided to spend a weekend in Washington, D.C. I needed to work on most weekends while he was here, but luckily the only one I wasn’t working on turned out to be the Fourth of July weekend. At first, all we could think of was how many tourists would be there during America’s birthday. However, both being the children of immigrants, we couldn’t think of a better time or place to go. Here are our favorites and highlights of our trip.

WHBM Petites :: Gingham Top + Distressed Jeans

Being 5’3, I love when a brand introduces a petites collection! Over the years, I’ve grown accustomed to adding in an alterations budget when I shop for clothes. A lot of the items I wear need to be altered in some way, usually, a hem will do. However, sometimes an item requires extensive work. I love White House Black Market because they have items you can wear both to work and on the weekends. Now, there is WHBM Petites and I could not be happier! Their petite clothing is for women who are 5’4 or shorter, regardless of their size. So what makes an item petite? It’ll have a shortened sleeve, narrowed shoulders, raised waist, shorter skirt length and a reduced pant inseam. Yay for putting my alterations budget toward my savings!
