Shades of Blue

Hello Everyone! I hope you had a lovely Father’s Day. I’m away from home, but before departing Texas, I gifted my Dad a Robert Talbott tie in a fresh lively green. To top it off, I sent my Dad an email I wrote to him in Vietnamese thanking him for all the sacrifices he has made for our family and reminding him to enjoy life.

Current/Elliot bright blue jeans, Longchamp Planetes tote, Amrita Singh reversible necklace and Tory Burch flats

Brightly colored denim has been a trend for a while now, but I just jumped on the wagon. I wanted pair since March, but didn’t want to spend full price. When Current/Elliot had a sale on Hautelook, I knew it was meant to be!

Bright denim isn’t hard to pull off. You have to know which colors work best for you and can be paired with other pieces in your wardrobe. A good starter shade is the bright blue I’m wearing here. A few notches up from the traditional blue denim, it’s still bright, but easily paired with just about anything. For a spring look, I paired the jeans with a plain white t-shirt and statement necklace. I wouldn’t suggest wearing brightly colored denim with another bright main piece. Mixing neons is still a no-no in my book.

Amrita Singh reversible necklace in blue lapis and turquoise

I didn’t want an overboard of colors so I kept my accessories in the same color family. My reversible Amrita Singh necklace and YSL Arty ring were the perfect variations of blue and weren’t too matchy-matchy.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you’ve enjoyed my lookbook.
