A few weekends ago, I got to witness my first east coast sunrise and it was a beautiful thing to behold. My brother was here for two weeks and toward the end of his trip, we woke up at 5 am, drove nearly an hour to Sandbridge and watched the sun rise. It was absolutely breathtaking and everything I could have imagined. We even saw dolphins!
The sunrise was full of cotton candy colors and I felt like this Nanette Lepore Gypsy Queen swimsuit perfectly matched. The print is absolutely beautiful and features so many beautiful details. Every time I look at it, I notice something new. The way the print is laid out with a horizontal band right below the waist and before the hip, which is ultra flattering. I love the plunge with the lace-up ties. It’s not too exposed, but you’ll still get a nice bronze without terrible tan lines. I’m wearing a size XS and it fits perfectly without any loose sections. The straps are also adjustable for comfort.
It’s been practically stifling in Hampton Roads with the dew points incredibly high and temperatures already in the high 90s. After the sunrise, we stuck around the beach for a bit before it got too hot. My skin is always dry and I have to moisturize almost daily to keep my skin from looking overly dry. I love the tropical scent of this body cream from The Body Shop. I hate feeling greasy, but this cream absorbs quickly and lasts a couple hours. I just can’t get over the scent. It makes me feel like I’m on vacation, even though I live by a beach haha 🙂
I’m sharing another one-piece swimsuit that’s super flattering. I love how versatile one-piece swimsuits can be and you don’t have to worry about keeping those abs nice and tight 😉
I love the floral pattern on this floral one-piece swimsuit from Somedays Lovin’ and it also comes in a two-piece as well. There is a plunge, but it’s still flattering even for those with small chests. I really enjoyed the ruffle detailing along the plunge and the small strap holding both sides of the plunge together, so you don’t have to worry about ever popping out.
This floral one-piece swimsuit also has a higher-cut leg, which as you may remember from this other one-piece swimsuit, elongates the legs. This swimsuit has a higher cut than any one piece I’ve worn before and I have to say, I really like it. It really does do wonders for making you looking leaner and slimmer.
The floral print swimsuit was so cute, I couldn’t cover it up. I chose dark blue distressed shorts to conceal my bum and was comfortable walking around near the beach just like this. I paired it with my favorite shoes, striped lace-up espadrilles, and I was set.
If you’re ever in Virginia Beach, I highly recommend going to Three Ships Coffee Roasters. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a very nautical, historical theme. The coffee shop is an homage to the year-long journey in 1606 when the Virginia Company of London set sail for the New World. The Susan Constant, the Godspeed and the Discovery made landfall in modern-day Virginia Beach. Keeping with the local feel, they serve a delicious Pungo Latte, which is sweetened with fresh local strawberries. It’s absolutely delicious and beautiful to look at before you shake it all together.
Hello My Beautiful Friends!
This tassel bikini is going to be one of my favorite swimsuits this summer! I love the turquoise color, but it also comes in a beautiful sexier red. I love the tassel detailing and it doesn’t get tangled during wear, which is great! What initially drew me to this swimsuit was how the top had enough coverage to wear with just shorts around the beach area. No need for a cover-up! Because of the higher halter neckline, this bikini top almost acts like a crop top, so I felt comfortable wearing it around. I’m completely lacking in the chest department and high neck swimsuits are flattering because they don’t expose what isn’t there. It almost makes me look like I have more of a chest because it’s all covered away. If you’re small chested, I would highly recommend along with this sunny floral suit or pink wrap bikini.
The bottoms I got are more of a Brazilian-cut bottom and not full coverage. However, Brazilian style bottoms are so much more flattering, no matter what kind of booty you have, I promise! Full coverage bottoms tend to “squash” for lack of a better term your booty and make it appear boxy. Bottoms with less coverage including Brazilian-cut, shape your booty well, giving it a rounder look. Of course, I still own more full-coverage bottoms for more conservative settings, but I love how these make my bum look!
White shorts are a summer staple and I love these scallop hem shorts. Plus, they have pockets, which is super handy for small trinkets you want to bring with you. I like mine high-waisted to elongate my legs, plus they look great with bikini tops!
