Labor Day is a week away, which means fall’s arrival is on the way! I absolutely love summer and I’m sad to see it go. However, there are some key pieces I love to rely on to transition into fall. This striped transition sweater is the perfect way to ease into fall. The color block stripes are a fun trend from summer. Plus, you can tuck this sweater into shorts for cooler summer nights. I can easily see myself throwing this over a swimsuit after watching a sunset at the beach. Or you can wear it when you’re in chilly restaurants or grocery stores when you’re running errands. I’m wearing a size US 2, which fits like a size 0-2. This sweater is meant to fit a little boxy and oversized. It’s also perfect for layering as I like to wear an extra cashmere layer underneath to stay extra warm when it’s cold.
IT’S HERE! Finally, everyone can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018! There are so many incredible things restocking for public access and I’m excited to share them with you! If you’d like to see my other looks, Johnny’s top picks for men and other Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018 related posts click here. I was actually able to grab pretty much everything I wanted and the items not fitting well or I don’t love as much in person will be going back.
My best advice is if you like something, add it to your cart and check out as soon as you can. If you plan on placing a big order, maybe split it into two so you don’t have items sitting in your cart for more than 20 minutes because those items are still up for grabs! Thanks to Nordstrom’s free shipping and returns, you can always bring or send something back if you don’t like it. However, if an item is sold out, it’s most likely gone. Now let’s get to my favorite outfits and picks from the sale!
If you haven’t checked out your recent Nordstrom, you must. Everything is wrapped in yellow! So much yellow. Kimmie tells me a lot of her readers were asking about my picks out of the Men’s department from the Nordstrom Sale, so bearing that in mind, I decided I could try and do a little bit of what she does to help the husbands, boyfriends, brothers and Dads of Color & Chic readers so they look fly this fall. However, I will admit I felt like I was going to have a heart attack before walking into Nordstrom. I just don’t like shopping, which is why Kimmie handles it. But here goes my 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Men’s Top Picks.
Happy Wednesday y’all! On Wednesdays, we wear pink, and this orchid balloon sleeve sweater couldn’t be more perfect. The color is technically called orchid but it’s a very vibrant cool-toned pink, not purple at all. This sweater is $52 and has the most perfect slouchy fit. I love the slightly cropped length, which also makes it easy to throw on. This balloon sleeve sweater oozes this laid-back vibe. You can wear it as a regular v-neck sweater or you can pull one shoulder down. Both ways of stying are appealing to me and depending on the weather, I’ll go for one more than the other. Since this sweater has such a classic feel, it comes in multiple colors. You can get it in red, cream, gold, sky blue or black. I did get the cream color to try but I’m keeping the orchid color.
Happy Monday Y’all! This weekend was a busy one for me. Lots of blog work with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access going on, seeing friends and catching up on much-needed sleep! Shoutout to my blogger babe Maria Luke of Millenial Fashionista and her husband Parker, okay mainly Paker, for taking these photos of me! We were blessed with slightly cooler weather, so shooting these fall looks weren’t as bad!
I know so many items are already sold out in the sale. Therefore, in this fall florals look, I’m focusing on items all fully in stock with multiple sizes available. This floral blouse has the prettiest ruffle sleeve details. I love this blouse because it’s perfect for work and wearing casually too. It has short sleeves, so it’s something you can definitely wear now. I love the darker tones, which gives it the fall florals look. When temperatures get chilly, throw on this cardigan for extra warmth. I love this coral color is a more affordable alternative to the ever-popular merino wool cardigan the past two years of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. While the cardigan I’m wearing above is 100 percent cotton, that’s reflective in the $32 price point. However, to make up for it, it’s available in six colors! Definitely snap this one up for summer nights or fall.
