Say hello to sizzle! I’ve never been a fan of bright colored nail polishes, especially the red variety. I usually lean towards nudes and pastels since I think they’re more elegant, sophisticated, and they work great on camera. Not to mention they are quite timeless. Bright nail polish isn’t all that appropriate for my chosen career. But, that was before I fell in love with Sizzle by Laura Mercier.
A vivacious red that is perfectly balanced between the orange and blue hues, Sizzle is a fantastic color for Spring, Summer and of course the winter holidays. I have worn this on my nails for two weeks in a row and I still haven’t gotten bored or had a single chip! The polish applies smoothly with a gel-like texture. In two coats, it’s completely opaque. The polish itself dries to a nice shine, but I topped with Seche Vite (I’m finishing up the bottle and won’t be repurchasing due to all the rumors about birth defects).
Sizzle didn’t take an exceptionally long time to dry. 13 minutes maximum on my end with two coats. After 13 minutes, I applied my top coat and waited two minutes before I donned my apron and began washing the dishes.
I believe Sizzle is a fabulous color for every day and can be worn for any occasion (unless you’re a broadcast journalist like me). Sizzle is incredibly versatile and can work for casual outings and formal events. I highly recommend you pick it up if you’re lacking a vibrant red in your nail polish collection. I give Sizzle 5 stars!
Hello Everybody! I hope your weekend was swell.
I saw this lovely silk Zoe & Sam blouse on Gilt and instantly fell in love (impulse buy much?). The color and white piping caught my eye and my mind immediately filled with multiple pairings revolving around this blouse. However, when I came back to my home in Dallas and saw the blouse in real life, it was MAMMOTH! I truly love this blouse, but it’s not even worth altering in my opinion. Two more of me would’ve been able to fit inside this blouse. I realize the sleeve design is meant to be voluminous, but it’s just too billowy for me. This is very obvious in the photo below.
I decided to pair it with flare jeans to see how it looked and the result, in my opinion, is decent. But, I intended this shirt to be a staple piece in my work wardrobe, not casual wardrobe, so back to Gilt it will go. I most likely won’t be purchasing anymore Zoe & Sam blouses seeing as how large they are.
My Mom snapped this bag up from ALDO a couple years back. She’s currently using another handbag, so I took the opportunity to borrow this lovely ivory bag. It’s rather large in size, so it’s perfect for toting around my laptop, charger, iPad, water bottle and various items. If I can talk my Mom into it, I just might bring this beautiful bag to the Big Apple for my internship.
Thank you so much for stopping by!

I was browsing the J.Crew store last week when I came across these beautiful skinny bow belts in the sale section. They were both originally priced around $40, but after sales and my student discount, I paid a little more than $30 for the both of them!
I have been eyeing these belts since I saw them back in February, but since I’m a college student, $40 is a bit much for a belt in my opinion. The neon pink one is actually an X-Large, but I have a leather hole puncher and a good cobbler so I feel confident I can make it work.
I’ve already worn the hot pink one with my fuchsia colored ankle pants a couple times last week and loved how it looked. The only negative I can think of is when you’re unsnapping the belt. The only place you can pull is where the belt is and I’m a little scared the bow could fly off at any minute! I’ve started being more delicate when removing the belt, but overall this was a great buy!
If you can visit your local J.Crew and snag one yourself, I highly recommend it!
