Floral Embroidered Maxi :: Warm-Weather Staple

Floral Embroidered Maxi c/o, Tan sandals, Tortoise Shell sunglasses, Tassel Earrings, Bucket Bag c/o (similar here + here)

The weather in Coastal Virginia is absolutely stunning lately. Flowers are blooming and people are starting to make their way to the beach! This is the time of year I feel so grateful to live by the ocean. I love maxi dresses during warm weather because of how flowy and whimsical they can be. This floral embroidered maxi is a mix of boho chic and classic feminine styles. The embroidery is beautiful and the stitching is on point. Plus, I love the a-line silhouette and lace-up neckline. Also, I want to mention this maxi is currently on sale!

Johnny and I really enjoy heading down to the ocean and taking walks on the weekend. This embroidered maxi was perfect since it can be dressed up or down. Here I am wearing it with my new favorite tan sandals, which will be a summer staple for sure! I’m also loving tassel earrings lately and this red pair is so cute. You can also dress this maxi up with lace-up flats or if you are short enough, heels.

This embroidered maxi is very very petite friendly. The XS fit me perfectly without any alterations. I want to mention the length on the XS is 51.5 inches according to the website. This is perfect for petite ladies who want to wear this with flats. I am 5’3 and I couldn’t imagine wearing this with heels since the dress won’t reach the floor. However, for ladies who are on the more petite side, this is perfect!

My Fitness Secret :: Indoor to Outdoor Voices

Outdoor Voices Tri-Tone Slashback Crop and 3/4 Two-Tone Legging c/o, Nike sneakers

Hello Everyone! Staying fit, strong and healthy is a goal for almost everyone. I’ll be the first to admit, I’m wildly lucky in that department. I have good genes, plus more than 11 years of competitive figure skating really shaped a good active lifestyle for me. I’m partnering with Outdoor Voices today to share a few of my fitness secrets. I wish when I skated, these cool athletic brands and clothes existed!

Outdoor Voices is brand believing in doing things, whether that’s yoga, a full-on workout or something recreational with friends and family. They make clothes for sweating in no matter the activity or time of year. The texture in the ultra soft fabric hides sweat while wicking it away. The fabric is unlike anything I have ever felt. It is unbelievably soft and I could stay in in it forever. Plus, you can wear them in the gym or in real life.

While home in Dallas, I got the opportunity to pop into their store off Travis Street. Full of light and inspiration to make you start #DoingThings, it is a fun store to be in and shop. Outdoor Voices’ signature collection is rooted in four core fabrics and a neutral palette anyone can wear. Y’all know I am a sucker for anything gray. I instantly knew I wanted the Tri-Tone Slashback Crop. I tried on the 3/4 legging in dove and ash. While I love both, the 3/4 two-tone warm up legging was my favorite. Plus, it also goes with the slashback crop perfectly. A great way to save is to buy the OV Warm-Up Kit, which includes the slashback top and a 3/4 legging. There are also kits available for cooling down and for men.

When it comes to fitness, nowadays I am more low-key. I focus on a mix of body-weight exercises, lifting and cardio. However, my secret for long-lean muscles is to stretch. I cannot stress how important this is before and after a workout, even if you only do cardio for 20 minutes. Starting with lower-body stretches, I do the basic hamstring and quad stretches. Hold each stretch for 10 seconds and do them three times each. I know it sounds like a lot, but it makes a huge difference. Before a workout, your muscles need to warm up. Afterward, cooling down is essential.

Flexibility is key to maintaining a range of motion in your joints. Without stretching, muscles will shorten and become tight. This makes them prone to injury. Not to mention if you are not stretching your lower body properly, it could lead to back problems. Trust me, those are no fun. One of my favorite stretches is the one directly below. I feel like it really stretches out your legs, plus your booty. And gives me a chance to loosen my back.

Pretty Details :: Lace + Ruffle Romper

Express lace + ruffle romper c/o (also in black and petite sizing)

I am a big believer details can make all the difference whether it’s fashion, a task you are doing or how you live your life. My favorite pieces of clothes have pretty details, including my current favorites: lace and ruffles. I think we can all agree sometimes the tiniest details can make the biggest difference. This is especially true if you’re petite. Nothing says “hello spring” like a flirty romper in a beautiful pastel. This lace and ruffle romper combine my favorite trends into a figure-flattering silhouette. Plus, this romper has pockets! You really can’t get better than that. When dresses or rompers have pockets, it gives you a nonchalant place to put your hands. Or, if you’re like me, quick access to your phone. I always respond, “Thanks! It has pockets!” every single time someone compliments me on something I’m wearing with pockets. I can’t help it.

The romantic lace yoke neckline on this romper keeps things on the conservative side, while still being just a little bit sexy. Lace is always a top spring trend and when used in a romper, it’s an outfit you don’t have to overthink. Plus, I love how there’s just a hint of it to keep the pretty details interesting and not too overbearing. The cold-shoulder cut with ruffles keeps this romper fresh and modern. Off the shoulder and cold shoulder pieces are not going anywhere this spring and summer, so make sure you’ve got plenty of it. When the breeze picks up, you are sure to catch the right kind of attention as the ruffles catch the wind. Since this romper is very structured and tailored, the lace and ruffles really give it a soft, more feminine feel. Not to mention the pastel blue is the perfect spring hue.
