For most of winter, I prefer to stay comfortable, casual and warm. Don’t get me wrong, I love to dress up, wear heels and a pretty dress. But when it’s cold my outfit has to be functional. Coming up with a casual winter outfit that doesn’t revolve around looking like a marshmallow can be difficult. As many of you know, layering is key. That’s one reason I love this casual winter outfit consisting of a turtleneck poncho. I’m wearing size XXS and there is still plenty of room to layer a cashmere or merino wool base layer underneath. You may even be able to sneak another sweater underneath, too! I love how this particular poncho drapes. It’s very flattering and forgiving. Plus, the speckled fabric gives this ultra cozy vibe while still being chic. The dolman sleeves still fit inside most coats and jackets, so you really can layer up if the temperatures are frigid!
Working from home can be incredible. Your commute consists of steps instead of miles and you’ll most likely never hit traffic. You’ll always have a place to make your lunch and eat it in peace, too. However, at the same time, it can be hard to stay motivated. Being in the same spot you want to hang out and live in can make it hard to want to hustle. To help tackle this, I want to share four ways to stay motivated while working from home. No matter what kind of job you have or what your passions are, it’s important to keep fueling that fire. I hope this inspires you to get up and at ’em!
I love winter but I can definitely understand if you find yourself in a style rut. A lot of people tend to gravitate toward neutrals during winter. Blacks, whites, grays and creams tend to rule during cold months. However, I’m partnering with Sole Society to share one way to avoid this style rut: adding color to your winter outfit ideas. This sweater dress is one of my favorites. It’s incredibly warm because it’s merino wool. However, it can get a little boring. The first pop of color you can add to a winter look is with a scarf. I love this exotic one because of the pink and orange stripes. When it comes to adding color to winter outfit ideas, don’t be afraid of overdoing it. If there is a neutral foundation, go for it!
The feeling of being 100 percent confident in who you are and what you are wearing is something I want everyone to feel. I know for many of us, that starts with what we are wearing. To me, style is a way of communicating who you are without even speaking a word. I’m partnering with White House Black Market to share a workwear style I love and definitely feel like a powerhouse in. The days of boring suits are over.
