By now, most of you know we moved to Dallas. Reading each of your comments about our new home is just heartwarming. Moving into this stunning apartment still feels like a whirlwind. Especially with Vietnamese New Year being right after our move-in date, things have been so hectic to make sure we get our place clean and settled properly. We wouldn’t want to ring in the new Lunar New Year in a bad way! While our home is far from finished, I want to share an apartment decor update with y’all. This way you can see the space as it comes together and see our process. Clearly, I’m no expert but I love to add things as I feel they’re needed. Plus, I believe keeping an open mind is key. Being in this apartment has taught us a few things when it comes to layout and design.
It’s been about two weeks since Johnny and I moved into our new Dallas apartment. Making sure the kitchen gets organized and ready to go is a huge priority for us. When you enter our apartment, the kitchen is one of the first spaces you see and we want it to be organized and clutter-free. Of course, there are days where it’s messy and items are strewn all over the island. That said, kitchen organization is very important to us so this was the first room we tackled as we unpacked. We are very blessed to have plenty of storage and space in this kitchen. My previous apartment in Norfolk had barely any storage space, so I understand. That said, we are still settling into the apartment, so I’m sure we’ll begin to accumulate some things as time passes. However, having a set guideline as far as kitchen organization goes will keep us on track and neat! This can be a daunting task, so I’m sharing the four products I use for kitchen organization.
Getting a sofa is the most exciting part of sharing a home together for me and Johnny. This is our first real piece of furniture and it’s quite the statement. When officially moving in together, we knew we wanted a sofa that would check all the boxes in terms of what we need and want. We are partnering with Article to share our sofa purchasing process. It’s so exciting to get the opportunity to partner with brands we love to bring our vision of what we want in our home to reality. We are far from finished with our home but can’t wait to share what we have so far. Welcome to our living room!
Happy New Year Y’all! I know it’s been quite a while since I have written on the blog, but if you follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve been in the process of moving back to Texas! In 2014, I moved from my home state of Texas to Central Nebraska to pursue a career in TV News. This is something I’ve dreamed about since I was a little girl. My whole family came to the United States of America as political refugees from communist Vietnam. There isn’t any freedom of speech or press in communist Vietnam. I grew up with my family watching the news, wanting to be informed, active citizens in their new community. Thus, grew my love of becoming a storyteller.
This is easily our favorite holiday recipe, hands down. We make it every winter and devour it in less than 10 minutes. In 2013, we stumbled upon this recipe by Byron Talbott and knew it was something special. Fast forward four years later and we’re still making it! It’s a simple recipe but sure to win over the hearts of anyone you make it for. These baked dipping s’mores take about five minutes to make and are perfect for enjoying by the fire or while cozying up with a cute Christmas movie. Speaking of, the Christmas Prince on Netflix is so bad it’s so good, ha! I don’t like the representation of journalism on it, but other than that soooo worth watching, ha…
